2010 – Summer Project
Here are some photos from an out of control summer project.
First, get a lot of material: 14 tons of rip rap, 10 tons crushed stone and 10 tons of rough loam.
Hmm. Looks like those stumps are in the way.
A few days later…
Yes, it is dorky to have your picture taken with a stump, but after two days of digging, pressure washing, chainsawing and swearing, we had become pretty close. I had to use a winch to get it on the loading platform. Was glad to see it go.
7/11/2010 – 2 inches of rain in four hours filled up the trenches. About half drained off, but then the clay kicked in. 100 5 gallon buckets later, was back in action.
The only thing better than one dry well is two dry wells. Excavation starts to the left.
7/16 – Wall footer is in. Dry well 1 and 2 also complete. One crushed stone pile down.
A little more stone dust and then time to start the retaining wall…
7/19 – Corner is in
Stone, stone and more stone.
7/21 – Looks a lot better after a recent rain storm
Drywell 1 and 2 – piles keep disappearing – guess it is time to order more…
