sp_configure and Ole Automation Procedures
I needed to allow access to file create and delete to a specific user in sql server 2008. This advanced option is now disabled by default.
To enable:
sp_configure ‘show advanced options’, 1;
GO
RECONFIGURE;
GO
sp_configure ‘Ole Automation Procedures’, 1;
GO
RECONFIGURE;

The Nazi Connection
Interesting book. Best parts are about his improvements to aerial photo reconnaissance.
The Snake Head
First half of the book is pretty interesting, but bogs down later on.
Another Life
First 2/3 has great stories, some which make you laugh out loud. Last 1/3 comes off the rails, but a good read overall.
